LifeMental HealthMindfit Life Coaching Does This Path Have a Heart?

There comes a moment in life – often more than one – where you pause and quietly ask yourself: What’s actually going on here?
Not from panic. Not from crisis. But from an inner knowing that something has shifted.

I’ve found myself in one of those moments.

Over the past few years, I’ve been building Mindfit while still coaching, speaking, creating programs, developing new ideas, growing a community, and navigating the rich and demanding roles of being a wife, mother, and a grandmother. It’s been a full season – meaningful, purposeful, and at times intense. And I’m deeply proud of what has been created.

At the same time, I’ve noticed a gentle but undeniable change within me. A quieter voice. Less urgency. Less appetite for pushing. More listening. More honesty.

When this happens, I’ve learned not to rush to fix it.

Instead, I return to something that has guided me for many years.

Many years ago, someone wanted a book from my bookshelf and offered me another book in exchange. I hadn’t heard of it, but curiosity won – so I said yes. That book was The Wheel of Time by Carlos Castaneda.

There is some controversy around Castaneda and his work, and I’m aware of that. But this particular passage landed so deeply for me that I’ve carried it ever since. Every time I sense I may be drifting off course, I return to it. In fact, every year I rewrite it into my new diary – yes, I still keep a paper diary, and probably always will.

Castaneda wrote from a male context, but when I read these words, I instantly knew they were meant for me. I invite you to read them through your own lens – your own identity, your own life.

*“Anything is one of a million paths. Therefore, a warrior must always keep in mind that a path is only a path; if he feels that he should not follow it, he must not stay with it under any conditions. His decision to keep on that path or to leave it must be free of fear or ambition. He must look at every path closely and deliberately. There is a question that a warrior has to ask, mandatorily: Does this path have a heart?

All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. However, a path without a heart is never enjoyable. On the other hand, a path with a heart is easy – it does not make a warrior work at liking it; it makes for a joyful journey. As long as a person follows it, they are one with it.”*

That question – Does this path have a heart? – has never failed me.

It’s not a question of success, productivity, relevance, or approval.
It’s a question of truth.

Right now, my path is asking me to slow down just enough to listen more carefully. To step more fully into the role of guide and vision holder, and to let go of being the one who carries everything. To trust that what has heart will continue – often more powerfully – when it’s no longer driven by pressure or worry.

And here’s the beautiful part.

Mindfit does have a heart.

I’m incredibly excited about where we are. The Mindfit App is almost ready, and it represents years of learning, refining, and deep care for what truly supports wellbeing. Along with all the other programs I’ve developed and taught (The Awakening, The Deepening, The Coaches Calling, Mindfit for Teens, Coaches Business Builder, The Big Relief, The 5 Day Unstressing Yourself, Radiant Living and many more, at its core sits Your Inner GPS – a program that has helped so many people reconnect with their own inner wisdom and steadiness.

Very soon, we’ll be officially launching the app, and I invite you to keep an eye out for that announcement. It’s a meaningful milestone for Mindfit, and one that opens the door to easier access, deeper connection, and a growing community grounded in mental and emotional wellbeing.

As always, I trust the unfolding.

Paths change. Roles evolve. What matters is staying close to what has heart – because when a path has heart, it carries us forward with far less effort than we imagine.

With warmth,
Sharon
