HealthLifeMental HealthMindfit Life CoachingWomen The Truth About Consciousness – It’s Closer Than You Think

July 3, 2025by Sharon Castle0

Lately, I’ve been deep in a beautiful exploration of something that affects every moment of our lives – consciousness. But not in a complicated, philosophical way. More in a grounded, heart-led, real-life way that helps us navigate life with more ease, presence, and grace.

For most people, the word consciousness can sound abstract, even intimidating. But I’ve come to see it simply as our capacity to be aware — the quiet, steady presence behind our experience of life. It’s always there. It never leaves. And when we begin to understand this presence, life changes — not because our circumstances suddenly become perfect, but because we start to relate to them differently.

This understanding is rooted in what’s known as the Three PrinciplesMind, Consciousness, and Thought. These are not techniques or tools. They’re not something you have to “do.” They’re simply truths about how all human experience is created.

  • Mind is the universal intelligence behind all life. It’s the energy and wisdom that animates us, like a river that carries us, even when we’re not aware of it.
  • Consciousness is our capacity to experience life — it brings our thinking to life and makes it feel real.
  • Thought is the power we all have to create our moment-to-moment reality. It flows through us, shaping what we feel and see.

At the heart of this exploration, I came across a line that stood out:

“Somewhere in the innermost recesses of our consciousness lie the answers to the questions all mankind seeks.”
Sydney Banks

This resonates so deeply because most of us are conditioned to look outward for answers — to fix our circumstances, to perfect ourselves, to find the “right” path. But the journey that truly transforms us — the one that brings clarity, peace, and freedom — is always inward.

For a long time, I looked outside for answers.  I searched, researched, and tried everything I came across that looked like it might be the answer I was seeking

And then I stumbled across Sydney Banks and the 3 Principle,s and I knew I had finally come home.

You see, when we innocently believe that our well-being depends on managing or fixing the outside world, we start to live in reaction mode. But when we begin to understand that our experience is created from the inside out, everything softens. We begin to live with less resistance and more trust.

Here’s the part that still takes my breath away:
No matter how chaotic or difficult life gets, the core of who you are is untouched.
Your wellbeing is built in. Your peace hasn’t gone anywhere — it just gets covered by thought.

When people see this for themselves — not just intellectually, but deeply, viscerally — a shift happens. Old struggles drop away. There’s less trying and more allowing. Life begins to feel kinder and more manageable.

This is the work I’ve been immersed in lately. Not just teaching it, but living it. Especially during the hard days, the uncertain seasons, and the messy, human moments that we all go through.

We don’t need to become someone new.
We just need to see who we already are.

You don’t need to fix yourself.
You’ve never been broken.
You just need to look within, and consciousness will take care of the rest.

With love,
Sharon
